The Masons Arms, Thomas Street was mentioned in a trade directory for 1834 when Thomas Griffiths was the proprietor.
Interestingly, the tavern was not listed in the trade directories for 1830 or 1835 but the 1844 directory lists Thomas Griffiths as proprietor.
According to the landlord, like many other local premises
built in the 19th century, the pub is reputed to have a ghost.
